In a live, hour-long Tweet Chat Thursday, March 14, 2013, summing up various Brain Awareness Week programs, leading NIMH Researcher Jay Giedd, M.D. fielded audience questions about the teen brain and the week's other special activities.
Dr. Giedd is chief of the Unit on Brain Imaging in the Child Psychiatry Branch of the Division of Intramural Research.
Brain Awareness Week was a week-long global campaign coordinated by The Dana Alliance for Brain Initiatives. It occurs every March to increase public awareness of the progress and benefits of brain research.
Partners include universities, hospitals, K-12 schools, advocacy groups, government agencies, service organizations, professional groups, and affiliates.
