The Special Needs Advocacy Network
May 5, 2014
SPaN's fifth annual "The Same Side of the Table" forum is open to all professionals involved in the Special Education process - Advocates, Attorneys, Administrators, Educators, Evaluators and Clinicians. We've discovered that having representatives from all corners in one room can be a pebble in the pond for improviing communication and staying student focused.
This year's forum will focus on how "Progress" is:
- defined by Federal and Massachusetts Statute, Regulations and the Courts
- interpreted and assessed by Hearing Officers, SpEd Administrators and Advocates, and
- include an open discussion on how we might begin to develop a common definition and best practice process for measurement
Panelists
- Rosa Figueroa, BSEA Hearing Officer
- Catherine Putney-Yaceshyn, BSEA Hearing Officer
- Michael Gregory, Assistant Clinical Professor, Harvard Law School
