Saturday, May 31: Yoga Partners Workshop at NESCA with Hannah Gould, M.Ed., RYT

NESCA Presents...

A Daylong Training for Parents and Professionals:
Bring the Benefits of Yoga into Your Home or Classroom

Yoga is a time-tested practice for developing self-regulation skills, managing stress, and promoting overall health and fitness. Yoga is a natural fit for young people with autism and other special needs, and is especially effective when it can be integrated into daily routines in familiar settings such as a child’s home or classroom.

Yoga Connects is a visual yoga curriculum specifically designed for young people with autism and related challenges in the areas of communication, attention, sensory processing, and emotional regulation. Participants will:
  • Gain a basic understanding of yoga and its potential benefits
  • Learn general principles of safety and alignment
  • Understand how breathing affects the nervous system
  • Become familiar with the sequences included in the Yoga Connects curriculum
  • Practice facilitating Yoga Connects sessions using the curriculum kit
