About Yoga Connects™

Developed by Hannah Gould, M.Ed., RYT, Yoga Connects™ is a visual yoga curriculum and specialized teaching method designed for children and adults with autism and related challenges in the areas of communication, emotional regulation and sensory integration.

Yoga is a powerful tool for connecting with self and others, and this 4-week series teaches parents and care givers to facilitate Yoga Connects sessions with their loved ones.

Parents / Care givers will learn:
  • How to create meaningful and effective yoga sessions at home using the Yoga Connects visual yoga curriculum;
  • How yoga can support emotional regulation, social connection and sensory integration;
  • General principles of safe alignment and effective breathing;
  • How to integrate quick “yoga breaks” into your home routine.
You do not need to be a yoga teacher to facilitate Yoga Connects sessions, although some yoga experience is helpful. The curriculum includes all of the yoga sequences and visual supports you will need, and the trusting relationship already shared with your child provides the safe ground for yoga to be a successful experience.

Most importantly you will move together, breathe together, relax together and share both the experience and benefits of yoga together.

Gould designed this program based on her many years of teaching yoga to people with special needs. She has seen 1st-hand that yoga is a natural fit for those with autism. Currently she coordinates the therapeutic yoga program at NESCA, a private pediatric neuropsychology group practice in Newton.
